I never post here, I only watch and read on the outside city scene forums. But, I figured being an SW20 MR2 and being few and far between at a descent price, I figured I'd go ahead and post it up here.

I need to pay off debt. My girlfriend and I are getting a place in the

summer, and I want to have a clean financial slate before hand. So I'm selling my baby.

info:

1993 Toyota MR-2

5 speed

t-top

MANUAL STEERING CAR!

188,500 miles

turqouise pearl on black cloth

pwr windows, locks, mirrors

100% RUST FREE!!

very pretty, fun to drive car!!

Has ALL 4 factory mud flaps

Has both factory floor mats

has original owners manual

has OEM toyota wheel lock set that came with the car as an option (not installed)

Has original Toyota key

COMPRESSION TEST NUMBERS: 1,2,3,4

205psi, 205psi, 205psi, 215psi...solid motor, burns nothing, no smoke (not even on cold morning start ups).

Positives:

New rear brakes as of 2/23, new timing belt, water pump, clutch (has 10-12k), spark plugs, tires, super clean, smells nice, never eaten in, I'm OCD about my car being clean. Very reliable, engines solid, trans still gets the job done, shes soild!

Mods:

not much, it has an ebay half intake, 15 degree timing (runs 89 octane ping free) and its on open b-pipe (sounds gorgeous!!) like I said, nothing at all lol!

Issues:

the list seems long but its just tiny stupid things aside from the 1st one. I want the potential buyer to know it all before even calling.

-HAS 5TH GEAR POP OUT, will stay in but you have to hold it the trans is perfect otherwise!!

-oil pan RTV seal is leaking, its very minimal though, less than a qt every 3000miles

-has no head unit or speakers, they were removed when I got the car because I wanted it cheaper, and the sound system came out to make it happen. I simply never put one in. I'm sure $100 could EASILY get you a stock set of used speakers, and an OEM am/fm cassette

-has a cut in the front bumper, and a crease in the hood (pictured below) previous owner parked downtown illegally and the poor duece got towed, and hurt.

-paint is beginning to fade just behind, and just in front of the t-bar on the top of the car. (pictured below)

-Has a tear in the drivers side seat bolster (common)

-needs a/c belt and re-charge to use a/c (I never did with t-tops)

-has normal rear outer t-tops seal leak

Overview:

I drive it to work 6 days a week, and I paste wax it every weekend. Its VERY well taken care of. I simply havent had the time to re-seal the pan, or get a trans. I am a Service technician at Infiniti, and I am just too damned automotivly burnt out at the end of the day to fix these issues. With maybe a weekend, and $500 or less it could be a slight paint fade from great condition

PRICE:

$3000!! VERY VERY FIRM!. I love the car. But debt is more important to me right now. It hurts to even post this.

ANY AND ALL TRADE OFFERS MUST INCLUDE A MINIMUM OF $1000 CASH OR I WONT EVEN READ THEM (gotta put money toward debt). THEY MUST ALSO BE A 5SPD IMPORT CAR OR I WILL ALSO NOT READ THEM.

I can arrange shipping at buyers cost. I have a very reliable, trustworthy shipper I can use. I will deliver up to 150 miles for an additional cost (as aint cheap).

Location:

Cincinnati Ohio, 45039 area (Kings).

Well when you list every flaw down to a flaw on the front bumper, a tear in a seat, and a drip from the top on a car with 180000 you should realize its in very good shape considering I've listed all its flaws. There is nothing other than what is on the list, nothing. Its absolutly beautiful, and it runs perfect. With a tranny, some RTV, a stock radio and 4 stock speakers from a junk yard camry, corolla, celica, truck, or mr2, and some silicone or a rubber seal for the top its one of the most solid MR2's you'll find that hasnt had thousands dumped in it, with almost a full restorartion.

NADA high value is over $5000 as well. lowest is $3800. Even if we went by the lowest value because of its flaws, I'm still nearly $1000 below that. MR2's sell for more than civics, and 240s people. Thats a well known fact. Its just a toyota thing I guess. Look at Supras and older corollas! I mean they are worth nearly more then what they sold for new. Toyota holds claim to the greatest cars ever sent here from japan, and it shows in what they are worth. Repaired this is an EASY $4500-$5000 car being 93+.

A 93 integra is worth 1500-2000

A 93 civic is worth 1500-2000

A 93 240 is worth 2000

A 93 MR2 is worth 4000-8000

A 93 RX7 is worth 10000-15000

A 93 supra is worth 18000-30000

Its just a superior car to the ones most people looking at it are used to.

Its worth $3000.

That is true, but if I had the time or money to fix the issues, I'd be a fucking idiot for selling it now wouldnt I?

And I wasnt speaking for NADA values when I listed the cars above. It was more "what they sell for" then a Book value.

Quit bashing him on the price, his asking price is fair. It is a special interest car so it takes a little longer to sell. Just because he isn't handing it away like half of the stuff on here is isn't an excuse to bash him about his asking price. 3K is more than fair and half of the people on here have "hook ups" to fix this car for cheap and you all know it.

Bump for a good car.

I would be interested in the car as a daily driver but the price is a little too high for me and the stuff that needs fixed... i know it's an old car and maintanance needs to be done... Are you willing to go down on the price??? I know you said that you are firm, but it's worth the try...

Go to MR2OC.com, (I'm not advertising) there are 91/92 single syncro trannys there selling for 100-200 in perfect working order and under 100k miles.

The trans does not need rebuilt, it would be a total waste of money to rebuild a non-LSD n/a trans. DONT EVEN DREAM ABOUT RE-BUILDING IT, ITS JUST STUPID! (no offence)

Go to the site, register, and see how DAMNED CHEAP the mr2 guys hook eachother up parts for.

Trans $150

RTV $1.99

Drivers seat $40

JDM am/fm cassette radio with JDM cup holder $25 (a-spec has no cup holder)

4 OEM speakers (doors/rear side panel) $20

ebaymotors.com OEM toyota factory ttop seals $160 +$14 shipping.

Thats 410.99 +some shipping, handling, tax and snicker bar while you E-shop.

LIKE I SAID!! Under $500 to make it one damned nice fu*king MR2. That has a high NADA value of over $5000!

I dont want to hear what you dont think its worth, or what you think it needs. I've looked into fixing it so many times, and look at an empty bank acount and just about cry. I know damned well down to the penny what the repairs cost, and WILL NOT be fu*ked out of what is already a good damn deal on a clean rust free solid ass mr2.

Period

end rant.

Please dont take any of that the wrong way, it just really bugs me to read that its not worth $3000 to some of you.

Like I said in the ad, it hurts to even list it.

So, please keep negetive comments out, as they are seriously un-needed.

If you have a problem with the price, PM and we can discuss your personal issue.

I would assume there is. (as is the case in most sites)

But, considering it is a special interest item, I figured it would only be right to put on all the nieboring city's forums to give people a shot at it since there are not that many around for sale.

Yeah I know that, but considering debt and not spending money is the point of the sale, I woulnt sell it if I put the money into it and fixed the trans. At that point, I'd just un-list it, keep and fix it, and deal with my debt over a longer period of time. I'm trying to avoid that by selling her.
