baron_ Posted April 16, 2008 Report Share Posted April 16, 2008 Then...quit paying rent until the landlord ponies up for the fix You give your rent directly to the court in rent escrow The court holds it until you have a meeting with the landlord and come to an equitable agreement....costs like $10.00 in administrative fees Withholding money usually gets a landlord's attention....quick Often, they'll schedule a mediation (costs like 15.00) where you call in both parties and try to work out an agreement (usually, the tenant wants cheaper rent...or reimbursed some amount) Or you can call directly to Ohio State students that will have advice, if only a lawsuit will appease you.
