magifesq
I locked the brakes up fiercely trying to avoid the deer, did minor damage to driver side front. Waited an hour after one witness said he'd go to a friend who's a patrolman (15 minutes later another gentleman stopped and offered to call the staties), finally left cuz I got places to go. Meat was bad - I hit it in the neck/front/head, a van ran over the hinder portion before I could drag it to the side. RIP bambi.

wolfman
Those fuckers were everywhere tonight! I almost hit 3 deer and a dog tonight!
magifesq
It just clipped my front corner, turn signal mounts are broken, probably not much more, so I'll keep my claims down for now. Worst part was sitting there thinking, I'd be home by now if it weren't for this.
RiceBurner
I remember my first Deer hit. I was coming back from Wal-Mart and had purchased a new set of culinary knives. State Trooper showed up asked if I wanted the deer, said Yes, opened the trunk, opened the knives and the Trooper about wet himself from laughing so hard (cause I had brand new knives). End of story... It's all about the timing

wolfman
I hit a deer going about 80mph in my dad's Tundra one time. No damage at all. (deer was already dead on the road ) Edited December 19, 2008 by wolfman
magley64
I've hit 2 in 2 different cars...first one was in dad's beretta, locked the brakes, slid straight into it, mashed the front end pretty good.second one i tried to swerve and miss in a 94 grand prix that i had made a deal to sell earlier that day, hit the deer, hit the ditch, and cartwheeled the car up into someone's front yard. Junked the car.had a deer change it's mind when i was in my 67 pontiac. it jumped out, seen the tempest and turned to run beside me instead of crossing in front... magifesq
Epilogue - I saw my truck in the light today - managed to get the front left corner of my 97 S10 and flipped back putting good sized dents on my door and mashed in my bed right in front of the wheel. Dangit where's the cop when you need him??
duc1098rdr
Maybe a dumb question but why did you wait so long? Do you HAVE to file a report when this happens?
jeremygsxr
I would not wait for a cop, they would probably give you a ticket for failure to maintain reasonable distance from a deer, and a animal cruelty charge.
magifesq
My bad, I guess you only have to wait if you want to claim the meat. Probably would've been ticketed for failure to maintain assured clear distance from a field lol!
