WTF is the point of paying the extra $$ for everyone on the road to see your personalized plate if the only person who gets it is you...? The reason why I ask is because something similar happened to me: (1) I checked on the availability of a plate and the website indicated it was available; (2) a few hours later I tried to order the plate through the website, but was informed by the website it was not available; so (3) I went to the BMV in person to inquire about it and found out that, in fact, it was available and that "sometimes the website will tell you a plate isn't available when it really is."
