Science Abuse
Here's the skinny: I've got access to 17 Transformers at a wicked price. I know jack about transformers, but from the label these take 115v and spit out 100/200/230. They're a custom peice by V&F Transformer Corp, so market value doesn't really exist. They weigh 16lb each, and I'm wondering if theres any buyers or scrappers that would want these....?
jeffmeden
Guesstimate how much copper is in there (the weight of the wire, minus the ferro core) and sell it to a scrap recycler. Transformers dont really count as 'electronics' imo, so unless you know the VA rating and can sell them to someone who is actually going to use them then the only real value is the copper in there. Science Abuse
Trouble is, you don't get squat for it unless you dissasemble it yourself. It's a couple decimal places difference in price per pound. These are looking simple enough to tear down. Where's a good place to dump copper?
