Some of the ones I saw at Camp Bullis were 8 inches long and 1 inch thick. From what we were all told, you really don't wanna fuck with them. lol yeah. I caught a few and kept them as pets way back when. They do get pretty sizable and real quick once they strike. I remember standing out in some leaves barefooted and a huge one decided to wander onto my foot. I just stood completely still until he moved off. Wasn't really worried, but wasn't about to chance it. Nothing like getting a huge leaf on your arm while cleaning out a pool trap either.
