Limitedslip7
I agree with the bullshit calls, unless he is using electric motors and battery packs as well. With the big ass V8 included in the 2850lb curb weight, I am very skeptical of that. As stated before, carburetors only make it that much more implausible, however the E85 doesn't really matter in their 100MPGE claim as the "equivalent miles per gallon" has a modifier in the calculation to account for the lower energy content. You can get an idea patented for $5-10 grand if you use a patent attorney, so even if they cost him $20,000 each, that is still SEVENTY patents. Also, why will he not list any of the patent numbers? If they are already patented, nobody can steal his ideas and all patents are available to the public anyways. Smells like bullshit to me... Why doesn't anyone anyone ever post any actual technological advancements? Here is a pretty cool article on recent Lithium-Ion battery improvements that sounds very promising: http://www.soft.lt/ECars/Images/NanoSafe%20Backgrounder.pdf Recharge in 10 minutes! 80% charge in just a few minutes! The batteries last over 4 times as long as regular lithium-ion batteries. Why don't we ever see this sort of stuff on the news?
hpfiend
nice notch but...- I call BS- I think he is just trying to get exposure to his other business... 400 hp and 500 ft-lbs it can't be a 5.0 unless he is using nitrous as the hp/torque ratio just doesn't seem right for 302 even with a truck cam. 3 seconds to 60 hah- maybe after a burnout with slicks- not with a 4 link on street tires. what kind of white face gauges are those? My notch makes ~ 435/435 for a similar hp/torque ratio but its not NA its blown and gets 15-17 mpg around town... You can tell its internal combustion as you can hear it crank and when he revs it up... it is rather quiet- maybe its turbocharged.
GonneVille
How about this? How about every one of you idiots that's gullible enough to fall for this kind of blatant bullshit shuts the fuck up until one of these cocksuckers turns a vehicle over to UL, or a university for testing? It ain't gonna happen, so STFU. Not one of these assholes has ever, or WILL ever, turn their car over to an accredited independent lab for testing. You wanna save gas? Lay off the pedal, and get a fuckin tune-up, so your gas-guzzling POS runs right instead of belching blue smoke all over the front of my Swiss-watch tuned car? GonneVille
Sorry, I'm just sick of these posts. The people that believe this shit refuse to be convinced by anything other than "hard proof", that the various "gas-saving devices" on the market don't work. Meanwhile, not one of these scammers has ever provided "hard proof" that they work, or even run without harming the car. Meanwhile, their websites and videos use the same kind of evasive wording and meaningless technobabble as every herbal viagra site in the world. They've been using the same pitch for fifty years, and in all that time, NOT ONE has ever been submitted for testing to ANY government agency or accredited testing laboritory. NOT ONE. Seriously, show one iota of rationality, people. I know it's a lot to ask, but come on...
Guest Hal
Next time you're at the dyno near my car, avoid talking shit about it. "That car has serious issues, he just needs to park it." You failed, my car blew the intake tube off the MAF on a quick street pull creating the idle issues. Talking shit about that car really pissed off my fiancee. End thread jack. http://youtube.com/watch?v=nivR8LkSn1Q
GonneVille
Wow, dude, everyone there was commenting on those issues, and my comment was only that you needed to address them before putting it on the dyno. I was NOT the one who said you should park it.

I was NOT the one who said you should park it. That is what I was told by the person offended. I can comment on its issues (which are no longer there, save the oil pan which is going on in an hour), and so can Brian. There are certain things people don't talk about when they are referring to other people's cars (at least in the presence of the people who par for/build the car.). Consider it a lesson in car etiquette.
GonneVille
That is what I was told by the person offended. This is the problem. If you ever have a problem with something I have said to someone else, please come to me and confirm that I actually said it, or at least that I was quoted correctly. In the meantime, you've been pissed off at me for half a week without me knowing a damn thing about it. Frankly, I liked your car a lot, and once the minor issues in question are cleared up, I think it is gonna be a fucking beast.

Someone that fears confrontation more than ghosts was pissed. She takes more pride in the car than I do. If I have a problem with something someone says, they will know it. SPLN SUX
I hate that pile of shit. Its probably his girlfriends car anyway... and its slow.
GonneVille
I'm not asking your fiance to come and call me out or something like that. I just would have preferred the chance to clear up the misunderstanding in private. I apologize if anything I said was taken as anything beyond simple concern for the car itself. SpaceGhost
I hate that pile of shit. Its probably his girlfriends car anyway... and its slow. Hal gets no love. I don't know about her owning the car but that "Ford, Quality is Job 1" T-shirt she owns is pretty cool, and looks fantastic on her. Thanks Anthony for the stalker pics. It's true, I get no love, that's why I'm such an ass. I think we had a big breakthrough here. You had me thinking "where the hell was Ben, he wasn't there.". RQUICK91GT
I know for a fact that Doug Pelmear is a very smart man and is probably capable of doing some unique stuff. But I also believe he is half full of crap also.

AudiOn19s
Hummm...is this more just a smart wording and phrasing use for a very simple thing? He's stating 110mpg but is he stating per gallon of "Gasoline" vs. just a gallon of fuel. Cause if all he's done is convert the car to run on E85 and then spinning it that there's only .15 gallons of gas per gallon of E85 it'd be pretty easy to get 110mpg of Gasoline when your fuel source is only 15% gasoline? just a thought here 'cause I call BS on the power /MPG figures as well if we're talking about total fuel consumed vs. gasoline, esp since running E85 uses more "fuel"...while still using less Gasoline in the process. I'm betting it's just a straight E85 conversion and clever wording.
Limitedslip7
Hahah, I think you may have hit the nail on the head. 110*.15 = 16.5 So he burns 110 gallons of E85 in it for a given number of miles, but "only" 16.5 gallons of gasoline? If that is true, what a douchenozzle.
