He said she was as qualified if not more, not that he thought she was a better pick. He was only defending her. Not sure what you're going for in the 2nd link. He clearly says she "might have been a better pick than me" right at the end. His tone even suggests he believes it. I wonder if he's playing or if maybe he's not to confident?
