96 explorer

I’m selling a 96 ford explorer. It is drivable but I would not suggest it. I feel that it does need some work for it to be completely safe. It has 250000 miles.

The Bad- The part that holds the back door open is broke so it falls on you but the window opens and stays up fine. the seat is broke and just falls back as your sitting on it. Cracked windshield. It has only happened a couple time but when i put it in drive, it will start to shake when i start to go and when I get on the gas it shakes even more and acted as it was going to die. It did that half of the way home for me then the last half it started driving fine. Since then I haven’t touched it. Up till that day i had no issues it would shift very smooth and never had any problems. Could be something as simple as tranny fluid or something like that. It does burn oil and could use an oil change. The wheel feels real loose when going 65+. It will sometimes pull back and forth and other times it will drive straight and have no issue. We did have the ball joints and some other things changed out in the front not to long ago but ill have to find out what all was done. the ABS started to kick on even when I wasn’t sliding so someone either pulled a fuse or disabled it somehow so it drives and breaks just as if there were no abs. This never caused me any problems just the breaks will lock up if you put them to the floor.

The good- the body is pretty good i feel, there is a little rust around the rear finders and bumper but it is pretty small. it does have new pads and rotors in the front. The 2 back tires don’t look to bad but the front 2 are getting pretty worn. The A/C was out so I put the recharge stuff from the store in there and it has been working since for about 4 weeks. Heat works fine last time i checked. And as of last winter 4x4 worked very good also.

I know this is sloppy i just threw it together fast and will try to get it cleaned up later. If you have any other questions please PM me and i will try to answer them the best i can. Asking $600 OBO.
