Brandon
Here is another attempt to limit public speech, and free will. Good ole Nancy Peloski today, and offering up revisiting this bill trying to pass legislation that will give the FCC the right to regulate, what is spoken on the radio, television, and now she added the internet. Its not fair for the public not to be informed on *public interest* topics, and then if they are informed, the radio station or broadcasting company does not have the right give an opinion, with out offering a counter. (typical democratic bullshit) More high lights "Two corollary rules of the doctrine, i.e., the "personal attack" rule and the "political editorial" rule, remained in practice until 2000. The "personal attack" rule applied whenever a person (or small group) was subject to a personal attack during a broadcast. Stations had to notify such persons (or groups) within a week of the attack, send them transcripts of what was said and offer the opportunity to respond on-the-air. The "political editorial" rule applied when a station broadcast editorials endorsing or opposing candidates for public office, and stipulated that the unendorsed candidates be notified and allowed a reasonable opportunity to respond." Sounds like another mechanism to give more socialist and government control. Atleast Reason, and the Bushs had the right mind to veto this Bull shit. Nancy Peolski should be shot, she brings a bill to the floor in a time when the government has gone on a 2.2 trillion dollar spending spree with no real course of action or mindset. God help us.
