xTHExBOSSx46 Posted November 2, 2008 Report Share Posted November 2, 2008 this desktop is for parts or repair. its a dell optiplex gx270. when it boots it displays a "thermal error" and doesnt boot the os. ran xp home edition. has key sticker on top in case someone gets it running. the boss wants me to just get anything i can for it if possible. has four 256 sticks of memory. in case anyone cant add thats 1 whopping gig of memory lol. pentium 4, 40gb hard drive. again selling for parts. 30 bucks obo. pick up only. xTHExBOSSx46 Posted November 2, 2008 Author Report Share Posted November 2, 2008 yes. that was the first thing i check. then i checked the chipset to see if the heat sink was dislodged cause thats a commen problem i have seen also, and it was fine. not sure exactly what the problem is but to me anything beyond those two things was more then what i willing to look into for fixing. lol plus my boss went and bought a new computer anyways so he just said do what you can with it.
