Last Minute Developement

OSUGT

Recommended Posts

Just a short read. You Tube has the video somewhere for full effect.

We're so self-important. So self-important. Everybody's going to save something now. "Save the trees, save the bees, save the whales, save those snails." And the greatest arrogance of all: save the planet. What? Are these fucking people kidding me? Save the planet, we don't even know how to take care of ourselves yet. We haven't learned how to care for one another, we're gonna save the fucking planet?

I'm getting tired of that shit. Tired of that shit. I'm tired of fucking Earth Day, I'm tired of these self-righteous environmentalists, these white, bourgeois liberals who think the only thing wrong with this country is there aren't enough bicycle paths. People trying to make the world save for their Volvos. Besides, environmentalists don't give a shit about the planet. They don't care about the planet. Not in the abstract they don't. Not in the abstract they don't. You know what they're interested in? A clean place to live. Their own habitat. They're worried that some day in the future, they might be personally inconvenienced. Narrow, unenlightened self-interest doesn't impress me.

Besides, there is nothing wrong with the planet. Nothing wrong with the planet. The planet is fine. The PEOPLE are fucked. Difference. Difference. The planet is fine. Compared to the people, the planet is doing great. Been here four and a half billion years. Did you ever think about the arithmetic? The planet has been here four and a half billion years. We've been here, what, a hundred thousand? Maybe two hundred thousand? And we've only been engaged in heavy industry for a little over two hundred years. Two hundred years versus four and a half billion. And we have the CONCEIT to think that somehow we're a threat? That somehow we're gonna put in jeopardy this beautiful little blue-green ball that's just a-floatin' around the sun?

The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through all kinds of things worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles...hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worlwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages...And we think some plastic bags, and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference? The planet...the planet...the planet isn't going anywhere. WE ARE!

We're going away. Pack your shit, folks. We're going away. And we won't leave much of a trace, either. Thank God for that. Maybe a little styrofoam. Maybe. A little styrofoam. The planet'll be here and we'll be long gone. Just another failed mutation. Just another closed-end biological mistake. An evolutionary cul-de-sac. The planet'll shake us off like a bad case of fleas. A surface nuisance.

You wanna know how the planet's doing? Ask those people at Pompeii, who are frozen into position from volcanic ash, how the planet's doing. You wanna know if the planet's all right, ask those people in Mexico City or Armenia or a hundred other places buried under thousands of tons of earthquake rubble, if they feel like a threat to the planet this week. Or how about those people in Kilowaia, Hawaii, who built their homes right next to an active volcano, and then wonder why they have lava in the living room.

The planet will be here for a long, long, LONG time after we're gone, and it will heal itself, it will cleanse itself, 'cause that's what it does. It's a self-correcting system. The air and the water will recover, the earth will be renewed, and if it's true that plastic is not degradable, well, the planet will simply incorporate plastic into a new pardigm: the earth plus plastic. The earth doesn't share our prejudice towards plastic. Plastic came out of the earth. The earth probably sees plastic as just another one of its children. Could be the only reason the earth allowed us to be spawned from it in the first place. It wanted plastic for itself. Didn't know how to make it. Needed us. Could be the answer to our age-old egocentric philosophical question, "Why are we here?" Plastic...asshole.

So, the plastic is here, our job is done, we can be phased out now. And I think that's begun. Don't you think that's already started? I think, to be fair, the planet sees us as a mild threat. Something to be dealt with. And the planet can defend itself in an organized, collective way, the way a beehive or an ant colony can. A collective defense mechanism. The planet will think of something. What would you do if you were the planet? How would you defend yourself against this troublesome, pesky species? Let's see... Viruses. Viruses might be good. They seem vulnerable to viruses. And, uh...viruses are tricky, always mutating and forming new strains whenever a vaccine is developed. Perhaps, this first virus could be one that compromises the immune system of these creatures. Perhaps a human immunodeficiency virus, making them vulnerable to all sorts of other diseases and infections that might come along. And maybe it could be spread sexually, making them a little reluctant to engage in the act of reproduction.

Well, that's a poetic note. And it's a start. And I can dream, can't I? See I don't worry about the little things: bees, trees, whales, snails. I think we're part of a greater wisdom than we will ever understand. A higher order. Call it what you want. Know what I call it? The Big Electron. The Big Electron...whoooa. Whoooa. Whoooa. It doesn't punish, it doesn't reward, it doesn't judge at all. It just is. And so are we. For a little while.

Yeah, listen to his words:

So, if the coalfire plants want to dump their shit into the world, it will bankrupt them. If they want to play clean, they'll be fine. I don't think you realize exactly what the unlimited burning of coal has done to the country. Remember when your wife was pregnant and the doctor told her not to eat fish? =Coal Power Plants.

Not only is the Not News, but it's not a "last minute development". This was in january, the Vid has been on their site since then, and the RNC has dug it up today out of desperation.

Eric, Clean coal does not even exhist. They have yet to try to this, for fear the c02 dumped into the ground will rise back out and sufficate people unsuspecting people. So Barack is an asshole for thinking he can enforce clean coal, its proven nothing, other then the engineers who invented as a science project are now claiming its a poor idea.

Ok so no clean coal, lets give it to Barack to tax them, then where do we get 50% of the countrys power from... Nuclear, nope hes against that, Solar and Wind? Well again its not a steady enough form of energy yet, so its a ways out... I mean do you know the economic clamity that will happen when he taxes the energy companies? The jobs you say Mccain would take.

As for the climate changes, Eric you know as well as everyone else, there is not solid proof that the climate changes are not just historic, there are arguments for an against, so Ill trust the guys with college degrees not your rant with coal power plants an pregant ladies.

Again Eric weak sauce.

Its historic, the democrates will promise to lower taxes to buy your vote, then tax the shit out of anything they can, and add fairness...

ORLY, Conservatives don't want to help support them once they are born to poor parent/s. Let them pull themselves up by their own boot straps. After all it's the kid's fault he/she was born to worthless poor parent/s. "Not with my tax dollars". "I gotta pay for the whore with 9 kids, that's bullshit".

You cannot be anti-abortion and then not for welfare and government sponsored programs unless you are a hypocrite/moron. You can't care about Fetuses and then not about children.

Just because a kid will grow up poor, we should murder them? That is crazy! So if a kid will grow up poor, we should kill them to spare them the pain of not having a PS3 and a new bicycle instead of an old one. That make a lot of sense.

Did you ever notice the people that are pro choice, are the one that made it to full term with out being murdered in the womb.

I would've been fine with it since I wouldn't have known.

And

Why are moral based subjects even being brought up in this thread? What does abortion have anything to do with the subject and who the hell even gives you the right to make a choice for someone else? Even the context of how you brought the subject up is ridiculous. Were you a troll for Halloween, Rick? :D

I was pointing out the hypocrisy of the liberals.

I dressed up like you and scared the kids. :D

If you are concerned for the life of a fetus, so should you about children getting proper food and shelter and healthcare after you mandate they are born. And the only way to do that ACROSS the board is to run it as a Government program offered to every American. It's really a Liberal view point to be Pro life.

Personally, my view is: "it's not my business". That's is my official stance. I'm not a woman, nor am I going to tell her what she can and can't do to her body. You know the less government, or smaller government view. :) Or do Conservatives want more laws, I'm confused.

And I really don't give a crap about the issue. I don't pick a candidate on that issue at all.

I've gone and gotten frustrated with you Brandon, oops:

As for the climate changes...

[brimiming with rage]HAVE YOU READ A SINGLE FUCKING WORD I'VE SAID!? Where fuck did I say ANYTHING about climate change!? Here's a concept for you, professor science: You can fuck the country without making it warmer. What comes off of coal when it's burned, it sure as fuck isn't limited to C02. Acid rain and mercury saturated fish are a direct result of coal burning, it's got shit to do with global warming. Get a fucking clue and stop waving your red herrings around. Some people who actually know shit about shit can carry on a real conversation without using buzz words from NRO.

Seriously dude, why should I pay you any mind and show you any respect if you're not going to bother showing me the bare-minimum respect of ACTUALLY READING WHAT I WRITE.

Eric, Clean coal does not even exhist. They have yet to try to this, for fear the c02 dumped into the ground will rise back out and sufficate people unsuspecting people.

Already happened. Though not the result of man, it did show that c02 cannot be held in the ground forever. When it came up, it stayed low to the ground and suffocated thousands of people in their sleep. Actually, it killed people where they stood, too. There is absolutely no way of seeing it or evading it.

Ok so no clean coal,

Good point, we need to stop burning that shit.

Think coal is OK and everything is just peachy? Get your ass down to WV and gorge yourself on catfish. Feed it to your pregnant wife (should you ever get a girl to accept your seed), everything will be just fine. USA USA USA!

Lastly, I don't think you've managed to spell "Democrat" correctly a sing time, throughout the whole of your internets.

Your ignorance is frustrating, and you don't pay attention to a damn thing that anyone says unless they agree with you. That's why you're ignorant, you like it, and you're not going to let anyone change it. I'm going to start ignoring you before I stop liking you.

We already provide health care assistance , food and shelter to people to need it.

I do view mass extermination as my business.

yes there should be care for children that are born, but thats up to the parents, not the government. It is somebody's own choice if they want to get an abortion in my mind, but it sure as hell shouldn't be federally funded or covered under insurance like some democrats want.

The gov't just needs to get the hell out of people's lives.

And as for the coal, 80%+ of my power comes from coal, so they better not start taxing. I wanted to whoop gore's ass when he called on people to perform "civil disobedience" at coal plants, I NEED my power sucka!

I pay attention, it simply comes down to the spatial order of your issues, and although the envirornment is important to me, and seemingly more to yourself, I blieve unfortunatly having affordable means of life for myself, and a family is just as important or more to me. Yes I have a consience and want to make the world a better place...

How fun would it be if we cut coal energy as a resource, or tax it heavily raising its cost beyond reasonable affordability? Would we be able to afford electric for our computers, our companies that pay our salaries, our hospitals that keep people alive? At what sacrifice are you willing to make, ill take not eating catfish from West Virgina, so that I can have affordable heat for my pregant wife, and a home with fundamental necessities. I dont like catfish anyway.

Acid rain, Mercury, they are sad results of the coal burning process, but the fact of the matter is where do you draw the line? Can we improve upon our energy resources im certain, but again at what cost, I believe Senator Obamas method is as ignorant as you describe me, hell good ole exxon mobile only spent 1% of their profits on renewable, or clean energy alternatives last year, and until the government steps in, nothing will change there. I mean as an analogie, should we all stop driving cars because they polute the envirornment? Or should we just tax you more becuase you drive a vehicle that emmits just as much or more CO2 then coal burning energy plants?Car emmisions rasie smog, acid rain levels, deteriates the air quality that your pregnant wife breaths, forget eating, every breath she takes?

So at what cost Eric, if we can not even control spending in a simple presdentail campaign, (your boy barack doesnt have any lobbying intersts... spending nearly 600 million dollars since january 2007) then how can we enforce clean power, and energy indepence, or keep honesty in wall street, any of these things? Its an empty promise to no return, an thats the sad truth I see.

So as for taxing the coal companies, ill bet the nest president wont ever get the chance because congress with fatten their pockets with lobbiest money, defaulting any hope of legislation (and we know good ole Nancy sure as heck wont pass any legislation...)
