Guest 614Streets
This is big news to me. My mother was prescribed this pain killer last month. Mom didn't take many because she said they made her feel out of place and she said ibuprofren worked better for her. Having 2 big bottles left over she offered me to take a bottle home , occasionally I hurt my hands and what not turning wrenches and will take something to aleve pain , I am not a huge fan of tylenol and ibuprofren because of how it effects my liver etc. So getting to my point I looked up the drug and saw it was a mild pain killer and I took 1 a day for a couple days. I have to be honest It did not help much at all with the moderate discomfort in my left hand and my chest felt tight a couple hours after taking them. Being a little concerned and doing my typical sponge soaking on the web for reasearch , I found this video on youtube. http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geu9wFf4dJEEYBEc5XNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTEyOTh2M2ZsBHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDMQRjb2xvA2FjMgR2dGlkA0Y2NTRfNzM-/SIG=12hapvpis/EXP=1233703045/**http%3a//es.youtube.com/watch%3fv=vw5O4tgErsg%26feature=related Well that raised my eye brow a bit when I saw that , that was about 1 week ago that I watched that video. Well today I saw that the FDA is recommending a ban for Darvon. Just some heads up and reason for concern for my brothers and sisters and their families who may take darvon.... http://cbs5.com/health/fda.food.and.2.922915.html
Smokey
just so you know Will, Advil or Ibuprofen don't work through your liver like Aspirin based products like Tylenol

kirks5oh
i prescribe it all the time, at least not DARVON, but darvocet, which contains tylenol, along with the narcotic component propoxyphene. feeling 'out of place', or confused, or completely 'spaced out' is the most common side effect of narcotic pain medication in general, aside from itching. and all narcotic pain medication has the full potential to become addicting. i prescribe it to people i've just operated on. the problem is when doctors just start prescribing it for bullshit reasons. Smokey
My sides burn when I take them?? dunno boss, but it's not your liver with the Advil. I'd probably still steer clear if it hurts you though.
