My g/f has a 2005 Mitsubishi Galant ES 4cyl that is throwing a P0401 code (EGR Flow Insufficient). It was briefly mentioned to me by someone at Advance Auto that I could try cleaning it before replacing it.

How would I go about cleaning it?

Is there anything else that I should look for that might be throwing this code?

Thanks in advance!!

ill have to look, but there has to be a sensor to read the flow of the egr...to be getting that code.

it could be a flow issue, or the sensor is failing...

Thanks for all the info guys. At this point, we're just trying to make it good enough to keep the CEL from coming on. She's going to be trading the car in on something new soon, so we just want the light off for when the stealership inspects it.
