M&H Racemaster vs. Mickey Thompson ET Streets Drag Radials

CRAWDAD

I Currently have Mickey Thompson ET Street 305/45/18. Well they are bald and I am in the market for some new tires.

Only thing I don't like about the Mickey's is that fact that they are 28.8 in tall. (stock tire height 27in) So with the extra 2 inches of rubber it gives it the rake'd look (I don't like) Plus with night time driving it points the headlights downward. I have head light covers so it makes it difficult sometimes driving with out the High beams on @ high speeds.

On the positive side. THESE TIRES HOOK They worked great for the drag strip.

VS.

I am currently looking to buy M&H Racemaster Drag Radials 275/45/18 these tires are 27.7in (lil closer to stock size) From what I have heard these tires will Hook just as good if not better than the Mickey Thompsons.

Has anybody used these for either the street of the strip?

Any opinions? Heard any pros or cons?

i do know that the m&h typically run narrow so you're talking about losing like 2 inches of ground contact and thats gotta be noticeable.. both great tires, i know the vette guys love the m&h. you could try the m/t in 305-45-18 it says 26.4 tall

I have those now. I think you ment the 305/35/18

I thought about those last year. Might look a lil funny having a smaller tire in the rear that the front. (fronts 27in tall)

another thing about that. I am traping 122mph. with the 26.4 tall tire and 4.10 rear gear I would be crossing the traps at 6400 in 4th gear (1.00 ratio).

Also it requires a rim that is 10-12 inches. mine is only 9.5.

I think I am going to stay with the mickey's!

cut a coil off the back springs!

if you dont wanna cut coils, you cant really fix that raked stance... but you can adjust your headlights to point up a little higher

vvme.com has very reasonably priced HIDs also, if the covers bother you

the headlights are not the real issue. It is the hillbilly rake that looks like shit.

I actually thought about cutting the springs in the rear. maybe I should buy somebodies old stock springs and cut them to see if I like the look.
