Rebuilding Again

I had to use a new to me teksid block. I bought manley .030 18cc pistons. I bought one of the new edelbrock intakes also. One head had another valve job and they were both milled. I removed the swirl dams in the combustion chamber.

you must be freaking loaded...everytime i see you post, youre rebuilding another blown up engine

 

why not just buy an MMR900 or something?

 

What your seeing is $2100 in machine work and parts. The mmr900 would cost over $4000

just for the shortblock. I'm not loaded!

I'm also selling my other intake for $700, so I'll have $1400 in this build.

The new intake didn't come with any bolts and the stock bolts are too long.

I should have it running in a couple days.

Did you just rebuild the motor like a few months ago? What keeps letting loose each time?

 

I havent ran a high amount of boost but the 2500 miles I have put on my car since its been turbocharged I have beat the shit out of it. I give you credit for keeping at it

Last year a methanol injection line blew a hole while making a pass and ruined the pistons.

This time the ground terminal was loose. That was where the fuel pumps were grounded. So, it went lean while making a pass and ruin all the new pistons and the block.

Both times I was running under 13psi.

that rebuild plus this rebuild = cost of MMR shortblock

 

after this one blows, the next one plus this one will also equal mmr block... if you keep going through these, why not just save up and do it right instead of keeping at the same thing?

did you not read what he posted above?? both of the failures were for reasons unrealated to the motor itself. An MMR built shortblock will gernade if it is ran lean just as the motors he has built.

Well said! I thought I had covered what happened pretty clear.

I did not have to pay for the last one.

I have $1000 in this one including the block.
