Ryan218
what do you mean "hi torque" stock cam? :stupid: if you want a stock cam atleast put your HO came in it. 1.7's i beleive will not clear the stock valve covers though.
Guest Removed
removing some baffles in the covers can get them to clear. stud mount rockers are harder to clear. bolt down's are not bad..but always double check for clearance when changing setups. lay the valve cover on there and crank/or roll the motor over completely. most all 5.0 HO cams are high torque as is e and b cams you should be good with. anything above those, then i would be pulling the heads, and claying the valve relief's to check for clearance! DOZZER
1.7's will clear if they are the pedistal mount. Studs take some work.
Dave1647545494
my pedastals wouldn't fit under stock covers I had to get the tall ones and an intake spacer
DOZZER
They fit just fine on my 87 with stock valve covers and no spacer.

Dave1647545494
on my afr heads and my stock heads my roller rockers would not clear foxbody style valve covers even with the baffle removed

nicktcfcsb
Cool thanks guys, I was always told back in the day that the exploder motors had a slightly more agressive cam?
Dave1647545494
explorer cam is similar to a B-cam it makes a ton of torque
