Main3s
I used it on my Dakota yesterday and... well I haven't driven it yet. BUT the truck has 210K miles on it and after the sefoam tratment it seemed fine. It didn't really somke that bad which I thought was odd since it had so many miles on it. But oh well, I've also heard good things about Marvel Mystery Oil.
Richard Cranium
I've heard good things about both, but a mechanic friend warned me against putting it in the oil. He brought in a car with a seized motor. The Seafoam knocked loose all the sludge and clogged up the oil pickup screen and starved the motor of oil. Mark1647545493
I'm about to seafoam the 89 GT and the 87 Turbo Coupe. I've done to all my cars and truck. Everyone of them looked like I just hit the smoke screen switch. It clears up in a couple minutes. I also use Marvels Mystery Oil in all my vehicles. Mark1647545493
I have NEVER used seafoam in the oil and never will. I read on here a while back a guy put it in his oil and seized his engine up after about 100 miles.
Mark1647545493
Found this from Thorne's last thread asking about Seafoam in March of this year. Total Sign wrote "Put it in the crank case on 2 cars, both with around 100k miles, both spun rod bearings within 1000 miles."
87GT
Only put MMO in crankcase NOT SEAFOAM!!!!
thorne
Don't put it in your oil on a turbocharged car, it will eat you turbo seals. thanks for the heads up on that one. I am going to suck it into the intake like suggested and the gas tank.

Yeah I was going to do it then I got rapped up and could not remeber if i had asked. I'm going to buy some this weekend. Do I need to change my oil right afterwards ? Mark1647545493
Do I need to change my oil right afterwards ? I never did. You're putting the Seafoam into the intake system and the gas tank so it shouldn't be touching the oil. I substitute a quart of Marvels when I do an oil change. Mark1647545493
btw... Walmart is a buck cheaper than Autozone or Advance Auto Parts. I paid $8.97 a can at Walmart.
V8 Beast
Just don't put the shit in the oil, otherwise sucking it in a vacuum line and dumping some in the tank always seemed to help out. I can't imagine it making a big difference in a car where it has been taken care of, but would be interested in dyno results. Come to my house and seafoam my stratus please. Crossle
It really cleans up any sludge or buildup if you put it in the oil, then run it for about 200 miles and change it. Probably not a good idea to throw it in the oil and go for a track run or beating it up on the street. Just ran it in the shop for 20 minutes then drove home, wasn't revving that high lol, doesn't take a lot. It will dump almost at idle, let alone 2500K.
