perfect, i live in centerburg. i'm sure people here know him. I'm really considering re-bluing it, as someone has taken some steel wool to it it appears. hell of a collector and i will def. be shooting it as well.

actually, just found out that Jim is an old family friend! small world. Time to get this thing shootin ready

 

I do seem to recall his name being Jim, now that you mentioned it ;)

Thought his name was Jim, but he did a .308 barrel conversion on a K98 and does excellent work on the cheap. Great guy.

 

 

Yup... he did the SAME on mine! :D He installed a Remington 700 Heavy Take-Off Barrel on a Turk Mauser (Small Ring) in .308. He reblued it, some Safety Work and installed a Timney Trigger. The thing holds about 1/2" at 100 yards w/ handloads! :D
