Lifter FAIL...

The Buick dropped a lifter a few weeks back, so I took it in and got all the crap I had waiting in the garage dropped in and tuned...so, all in all, a win...

But for those of you with LSx motors, you might be interested in this, since the 3800 Series 2 and the LS1 use the same lifters...

As you can see, the upper right lifter came apart, dropping the internals out when it was removed from the motor...and on the lower left, you can see why...the stamped sheet-metal retainer that holds the pushrod seat in place has cracked. Bob Cook found pieces of the broken retainer from the fubared lifter floating in the area above the lifter...These are CompCams OE-R lifters, and I gather there have been a few cases of them breaking like this in L67s.
