Why don't these cars have long-travel front suspensions (off-road style) to absorb the impact of the nose coming back down?

 

I ask because whenever I see a car launch with the wheels up, it always seems to come down hard and maybe a third of the time, the crossmember smacks the ground and/or the car veers to one side or the other. Wouldn't it be faster to have more control *as* the nose hits, rather than after it stabilizes?
