craig71188 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Share Posted January 16, 2010 (edited) Well, per my reloading info from Nosler: 7mm Remington Mag: 120gr bullet / max muzzle velocity load - 3570 fps = 27" drop at 500 yds 175gr bullet / max muzzle velocity load - 2970 fps = 43.6" drop at 500 yds 300 Winchester: 125gr bullet / max muzzle velocity load - 3470 fps = 30.5" drop at 500 yds 200gr bullet / max muzzle velocity load - 2970 fps = 43.2" drop at 500 yds So at "max recommended load" they are very similar - the 300 Winchester carries a little more max force with the larger round in size/weight. Your results may vary depending on ammo you purchas or load. Hope that helps... Sorry, no "ultra mag" info in my book...
