leez
My brother has a 1955 Ford Fairlane w/ a 1968 428CJ Ford engine stuffed in it... He installed a new "Summit Racing" breakerless (no points) distributor in it, & now it won't make enough spark to fire up & run... he says, he checked everything out & all seemed to be in order including the coil , ballast resistor, relays , wiring & TDC position when the startup was attempted... so even thought the distributor is brand new, we suspect it may have been bad right out of the box... anybody know where he can have the distributor bench tested for a reasonable cost? TIA, CR peeps... Lee / Columbus
Guest Removed
with breakerless , you dont need a ballast resistor. is the firing order correct? are you sure its at TDC? and whats it doing now to make you think its bad?
Dave1647545494
you can get an inline spark tester for like 5 bucks at harbor frieght. then you can confirm wether its dead or its just out of time
