Hoblick
is it possible to have a hi/lo combo with HID's? or is it one bulb per function? If its the latter, would that mean your friends 99-02 R6 has a more "modern" look with the cyclops light as a low beam and both on for the high? Also would I be able to use a Hi and Lo projector off a 03-05 R6 and retrofit it into the 99? What all is involved with retrofitting?for his 99 we just used the regular hid kit, so there is no hi or low, with the headlights on both lights are running all the time. they are super bright. if you want hi/lo option the price jumps up a bit to like $125 plus shipping.btu with how bright the bulbs are without a high beam it wasnt an issue to him.i dont know if you can retro fit the 03-05 r6 projectors in or not. most people when retro fitting a projector tend to use the projector housing from the infinity fx35. that is a true HID projector housing and commonly used in retro fits.so you would retro fit one fx35 projector housing per headlight. Benyen Soljax
do you have plenty of clearance with those bags and your tailpipe?

natedogg624
looked up retrofitting HID's, on paper it doesn't look to difficult. But im sure the actual process and getting the right parts and what not will be the hard part...
natedogg624
with no projector housings your gonna have a scattered light beam, alot of people dont care, cause they are still brighter, but the person driving, or riding towards you might lol.ill get some pics of my buddy's 99 r6 with his HIDs on at night. so you can judge for yourself.and the bags are tourmaster coretech, tribag system (tail bag, and saddlebags)hey can you post up the pics of your friends 99 with HID's in a reflector housing? Benyen Soljax
hey can you post up the pics of your friends 99 with HID's in a reflector housing?HIDs in a reflector housing will work just because light bulbs dont care what housing they are in. they will be obnoxious however and not have the proper cutoff line for low beams and blind everyone on the road. imo not worth it unless you can squeeze some projectors in the housing. natedogg624
i know the will work, just wanna see just how "bad" they really are.
jbot
i threw a hid conversion kit on my aprilia (no projector) and yeah, it does scatter the beams around... i can't say whether it's blinding or not, but i do know visibility is much better for me now. during the day, they shouldnt blind drivers too much and should actually help them notice you more. loli'll ask my friends if the lights are blinding or not, though. natedogg624
i saw a comparison shot of halogens vs HID's with no projector and it looked the same as far as light scatter only much brighter. pics below are all from a reflector housing--normal halogen lights:HID's:
brennan
pricey, but if you wanna pay someone to do themhttp://www.r6-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79891
smashweights
man finally! i've been looking all over to see a 2nd gen R6 with HIDs installed and they look great! I'd been looking into DDM Tuning's set as well so I just ordered the 6000k dual set. Looks great and now I'm really excited to get these in. Care to mention how you did the install?
