RENEGADE RULES 1. Full-bodied factory street type cars/trucks (domestic and import, ANY power adder permitted) 2. Working Headlights and Taillights mandatory, this means headlights NOT foglamps 3. NO DRAGSTERS, ROADSTERS, ALTERDS OR CENTER STEER CARS 4. Must be street appearing/no gutted interiors/carpeted interior even if rear seat is removed (The interior should look clean and professionally done) 5. Must have interior door panels 6. Racecar lettering on windows only (minor exceptions may apply) 7. Back half or stock REAR suspension permitted 8. Windows, Lexan permitted (Roll down windows optional) 9. Must have stock style front suspension 10. No full round or square tube chassis cars 11. Any size drive tires permitted ELECTRONICS 12. Bracket Racing Aids: No throttle stops, No Electric shifters or Optical sensors. 13. No delay boxes or other driver aided electronics. 14. Progressive Nitrous controller system permitted 15. No electric or air shifters. SAFETY All cars must meet all current IHRA/NHRA SAFETY REQUIREMENTS Drivers are required to wear the required safety equipment for the ET's that are being run. THERE WILL BE NO 'GUTTED' RACECARS PERMITTED TO RACE, IF THE CAR DOESN'T FIT THE SPIRIT OF THE RULES IT WILL NOT RACE WITH THE 8.90 INDEX CARS. Al Matuska's "Blaze" 1965 Chevelle defeated Gary Moore's 1965 Mustang with a 8.91 to a losing 8.92. With his win Al also collected Ultratech Racecars "bounty" on the number one qualifier, a tire coupon from Goodyear Tire and Rubber, not to mention the really sweet RENEGADE RACING ASSOCIATION TROPHY!! Semi - Finalist were Don Turner "Mr. Z" and Ralph Lukas "Blumaro" Ultratech Racecars Number one qualifier was Ralph Lukas' "Blumaro" 1971 Nova with a 8.9917 (number two qualifier ran a 8.9921) TI Dyno's Sweet Sixteen qualifier was Paul Nadeau, he will receive 2 hours of "FREE" Dyno Time. Skippy Did It Racecars provided a goody bag for all 16 qualified cars, new racers received a gallon of hand cleaner. He also provided photos of all the racers that participated in the previous event. About halfway thru the show we'll be hitting the airwaves talking up the SPONSORS, the RACERS and the RACING ACTION. One of the co-hosts, Tom Lang saw our last show and really liked the format, the cars, and the crowds appeal for the series and he wanted to help promote the series on his show. Semi-Finalists were Gary Moore (who was defeated by Paul Suloff), and Ray Litz (who broke and was unable to compete in the semi-finals). Ultratech Racecars Number One Qualifier was Don Turner with a 8.942. Ultratech's Bounty winner was Paul Suloff for defeating Don Turner. Street Lethal Performance Best Reaction Time winner was Ray Litz. Ray also won DANNY'S ORGANIC MARKETPLACE Going Green Challenge. John Cron won the Morris Family Chiropractic $50 Bounty on Al Matuska's Back. Paul Suloff also took home the RCCrafters.com $50 All Motor Bonus. Thank you to all the racers who came out in this hot weather and supported the class, other than a few raindrops a good time was had by all. It was some great door handle to door handle action that the crowds and other racers really enjoyed On a personal note, we want to thank everyone for their support in purchasing 50/50 tickets. The gate will honor Paul's business card for the offer, they will be available Saturday. To qualify to race in Unleashed you have to be an NHRA member with car #, Competition License, Chassis Cert. . It would be good to get as many car there as possible because he is considering running our Renegade Racing Association class there in 2011. tomcowle Posted August 29, 2010 Author Report Share Posted August 29, 2010 Another great day of racing with 14 racers making up the show with some new faces making their first race appearance with the Renegade 8.90 Racing Association. Ultratech Racecars #1 Qualifier was "Big Charlie" Moore and his 1969 RS camaro, with a 8.962 followed closely by Al Matuska and his 1965 malibu with a 8.963, but that wasn't the last these two would tangle during the night. "Big Charlie" also captured the BEST REACTION TIME prize, a dragracing "tree" decorative bottle provided by the Reese's Semi-Finalist were Don Turner "Mr. Z" in his 1982 Z28 camaro and Mark Davidson in his 1992 firebird transam. Al captured lane choice in the semis with a 8.92 (receiving a bye to a broken Mark Davidson) over Charlie's 8.93 (defeating Mr. Z), to match up #1 and the #2 qualifiers for the finals. In the finals, it was all Al Matuska when Charlie unfortunately lit the big red bulb to end his night. In addition to his victory Al came home with the winner's purse, and the Goodyear Tire Certificate. We would like to again thank all the racers and sponsors who have supported us during the year, and we look forward to seeing EVERYBODY on September 18th for the RENEGADE FINALS!!!
