ImUrOBGYN
Read an interesting article yesterday. I won't go into details, so here: http://workshop.search-autoparts.com/_Ford-Designing-a-Laser-Ignition-System/blog/2231940/31710.html

twistedfocus1647545489
also, in before people remove the lasers and make home made laser pointers hot enough to light shit on fire Eh, you can already buy lasers that will light shit on fire. Not cheap, but I bet the new lazer ignitions will be expensive also. http://www.wickedlasers.com/

Nate1647545505
Purdue was working on an LPG/Natural Gas concept single cyl with a similar laser ignition setup - they set up a small sapphire window just outside the spark plug port ahead of the lense system. A conversation with one of the post-doc's about window or lens damage/fouling led me to believe they weren't experiancing any.
1fast5gp
I'm wondering how the lenses will keep clean and/or not melt.. hm. They ususally use sapphire or ruby lenses in high heat applications. But keeping it clean, Maybe running methanol/ethanol fuel. I don't know how they are going to stop carbon build up from any petrol based fuels
