sprayin77
If i was to buy just a ford 9 inch from say a scrap yard or somewhere does anyone know how to fab it up to just bolt into my car? if so how much? I have a 98 camaro ls1 that i broke my 7.5 10 bolt at the track day. any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Im trying to find the cheapest way to replace my rear end wondering if i should buy 1 already done or have it made.
spankis
Talk to Rob (Gearhead) on here. I think he's pretty knowledgeable on these at this point. He can sell you a Moser 9" setup too I believe if you wanted to go all out.

sprayin77
yeah i have talked to rob but im trying to be a cheap skate. not trying to dump 3k into my rear end if i dont have to. i found a 9 rear end for really cheap i was just wondering how exspensive it would be to have someone fab it up

MrMeanGreen
Fabbing and having a properly setup and working torque arm mount will be the hardest part.
Mattsv8
u can get just a moser 9" housing with tq arm and all brackets welded on for 610 at jegs. from moser. then just get what ever parts u want to fill it.

Yeah that is what Larry at jets told me. I don't know what to do at this point. The moser would be fine for the 610 at jets but the other parts to fill it is gonna be roughly 1500 it's self. I just figured there has to be another way. I guess I'm just gonna have to start saving and get some serious cash together so I can try to make the next track day

sprayin77
I'm planning on doing some work to my ride. So rear end isn't gonna hold up. Another reason I'm trying to be cheap. money for other mods. The track day and me getting shit on ,on YouTube gave me a little motivation to put some more money in my car. Guest Removed
yeah i have talked to rob but im trying to be a cheap skate. not trying to dump 3k into my rear end if i dont have to. i found a 9 rear end for really cheap i was just wondering how exspensive it would be to have someone fab it up it can be done... but you only save 2-400 bucks doing it that way. still have to buy axles, and so on etc etc. stock axles resplined arent worth it, cause you can only respline to the same size. 28 or 31. now like i told you 100 times already, buy a bolt in housing and axle package, and go find you a cheap center that got shit in it. spool is a cheap way of going. i know i can get you a setup for around 2500(if not less), without all the fancy shit on it like bace brace powder coated etc.12 bolts with spools go even cheaper. and way stronger then you current shit. also try the 9" factory. they may have something for you aswell, but you'll still be in the same price range. but then i will say this, you can make all the power in the world, but if you cant get it to the ground, it wont do you any good. drop your drive line in a fox body! hell i have had stock 8.8's in the 9's before they broke...lol

Guest Removed
but really, going all out with a rear end, it ends up like this http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y196/gearhead559/file_13_2.jpg i dont think you want to know the price.... it can get up there with 35's and a wave track, but gun drilled 40's(star flanged is cool) and a spool, you wont break it in your life time. A 9" is going to be over kill for your car and will rob alot of power. Just get a Moser 12 bolt. I have $2300 in my setup.
