Guest mitsumodder
So, I have 1G DSM with a SS tubular exhaust manifold that was sold to me as a DNP. It doesnt have the DNP plate on it but its also 7 years old. I noticed its leaking at the welds to the flange to the head on 2 of the cylinders. The thing is this car gets VERY FEW miles put on it, 200 a year, and its a stock turbo housing so theres not a bunch of weight hanging there. Is this fixable? Just weld more over top of whats there? Who could do a good job? I don't want it looking like crap. Has anyone ever seen this before on a $600 manifold?
spooling 1g
IF its a real dnp they might warranty it,but not having the logo on it makes it sound like a ebay special.

Guest mitsumodder
after taking pics I noticed there are three cracks. http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/ab128/mitsumodder1/DSC02032.jpg http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/ab128/mitsumodder1/DSC02030.jpg http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/ab128/mitsumodder1/DSC02031.jpg http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/ab128/mitsumodder1/DSC02029.jpg http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/ab128/mitsumodder1/DSC02028.jpg the last 2 pics are to help determine if its a real DNP. I know the plate isnt there but all the reinforcments are there under the cylinder tubes and where they collect. DNP's warranty is 1 year. so either way i'm screwed. Guest mitsumodder
Who can fix it for me? I know how to MIG weld but have yet to learn to TIG.
spooling 1g
Im still gonna say ebay, cause even is the logo fell off you'd see where the tack welds were plus i've never seen a dnp discolor that much,And look at the welds on a real dnp (#1 runner to be exact)theres 2 seams as where yours only had 1 seam. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t257/spooling1g/dnp.jpg

AJ
looks like they used the wrong filler rod to me. they welded cheep 304 stainless to mild steel. turbo headers should be made from 321 stainless to reduce the chance of cracking. i could weld it for you but i don't have any of the filler rod you need at the shop or the house. coltboostin
Its a DNP-no ebay copy for it. But, its also made in China like Ebay shit, so more money, same shitty product. It will need to be braced if you dont want it to fail again.
