Doc1647545523
Actually, Andy Griffith was his real name. His character's name was Sheriff Andy Taylor. Gomer Pyle was played by Jim Nabors. Both were singers as well as actors. Griffith was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom just a few years ago. The little boy in the scene is Ron Howard (Happy Days actor and award winning director of films such as Da Vinci Code and A Beautiful Mind.)
