Rustlestiltskin
One other truck i'm looking at is a 2000 F250 with a triton 5.4 v8 with a 5spd. this truck has 128000 miles on it. Are the 5.4's noted as good long running engines? I just want to make sure i'm not buying a truck that has a history of problems because of its engine style thats all thanks for any future advise guys. Crossle
Make sure all the spark plugs are in it. The motor likes to eject them from the head. Rust Check upper/lower balljoints Check control are bushings
truckin
If your going to be doing any serious towing i'd bypass the 5.4 in a SD. Though a good engine ( i had one in my 05, my dad has had 4 in 4 different trucks), it's underpowered for any serious work in a SD. If your doing light towing and mostly running around your fine.
