Dave1647545494
I have a pair of MTX blue thunder 10's from the lateish 90's early 00's anyway I can't find a box spec for them anywhere and I know the little ass truck box they are in is too small is ther like a general size for a pair of 10's I should shoot for? Dave1647545494
how do I figure it? do you need the power rating from the woofer or something? it sounds ok now but each speaker is in a small box that used to be behind a truck seat I know we made those boxes to fit the truck and they were not optimal at all size wise. I can do 3 cubic feet and try it whats better a ported or a sealed box I don't really mess with this stuff much anymore....
KillJoy
MTX Go to MTX's Website. Look for the Model of your Subs. They have recommended enclosure volumes and simple dimensions for most of their models. KillJoy

nurkvinny
Ha, hadn't heard "MTX Blue Thunder" in a while. I still have a set of 10" truck boxes laying around. Are your's ported? If they are in their original boxes, I bet the boxes are about right.
SPL_Josh
If they are the "factory" box I bet their not the best for the vehicle. And I know I could get it louder.
SPL_Josh
And sound better... But what do I know, I just glue wood together haha
Dave1647545494
not the factory the box we took these out of a car and made new boxes to fit a truck now they are back in a car again. I will pop one of them out when i get some free time and write down the info on the back of the speaker
TA In Progress
Call me. As you know, those speakers were mine at one point and I had the original MTX box they came in for years. They were pretty damn loud for 10's . I'll help you figure it out. BTW, what happened to the third one?
