I was wondering what is a good way to keep salt off the motor of my truck this winter. Last winter I would wash my truck after every plow, but still today it has some crusty salt film left in the motor, even after washing and washing. So whats a good product to remove salt so my new truck doesnt rust out in the engine bay.

put the truck on a lift after a thorough powerwash and drying and buy 2 cans of white lithium spray lube. spray the entire underbody , frame and suspension as well as oil pan and block. do not drive the truck for 24-48 hours , let the lube turn yellowish and dry out. this will provide a layer between metal and the salt.

also use on the top half of the engine jax wax blue silicone.

wash mildly through the winter with power washer and in spring wash more agressively and use baking soda in your 5 gallon soap bucket to pour over engine bay componenmts. repeat process next fall.

process is very similiar to that of cosmoline. or you can try to find for the underbody spray cosmoline.
