CRAWDAD
We had a great and wild weekend of racing at SSCN this past weekend and raised the bar again with some great passes. Mark Luton put the MMR powered twin turbo 5.4 down the track and set some new records being the first Modular Powered Mustang in the 200's (non tube chassis) Our first qualifier got us a 7.13 @197 @ 28psi Our second Qualifier got us a 7.18 @ 200.4 @ 30 psi The 3rd was a 7.08 @ 202 at 30 psi Our first round of eliminations was against John Walls Turbo fox body, his weekend ended bad with a blown trans seal and a rub with the wall. We ran our best 1/4 mile pass on this one with a 7.06 at 204.2 @ 32 psi and squeaked by the out of control car of Johns, John did a great job of driving it and damage was minimal and he was just fine! Weather and Conditions changed fast in the next rounds and the track was shortened to 1/8 mile which rarely favors a turbo car, this round was against Doug Sikora who layed down a 4.44 we put a little more in it down low and ran another best of 4.59 @ 162 in the 1/8 , we think this would have been our 6 second pass but we guess that has to wait till next year !! (Our prior run was 4.65 @ 160 ) Congrats to Mike Murrillo who took home the gold!! We will try to post some videos soon. Some specs for those that havent seen her 2010 GT 500 (yes, it is a real GT500 lol) Complete MMR Race engine with alloy Block and stock GT 500 heads (MMR Ported) Twin Turbo with air liquid intercooler MMR Turbo cams Automatic Trans 29x10.5 tires 25.3 Certified Roll cage Jesel Roller Rockers Titanium Intake Valves MMR Sheetmetal Intake 105mm Throttle Body oh, we forgot 9" rear end Strange brakes http://modularmustangracing.com/MMR%20launch%20from%20stands.jpg http://modularmustangracing.com/racecar%20engine%202.jpg Here is a slower pass from a few weeks ago, in fact this was its first full pass !
