Hmmm...this differs greatly from our last thread on the global warming crisis from Japan. Who's right? Government liberals with an agenda, or scientists from an island nation who have the threat of being covered in water?

i dont believe in global warming. its not something we are to be concerned with in our lifetime.

however i do have some inkling as to the seasons shifting. winter is now almost jan/feb/mar; spring is apr/may/june; summer is jul/aug/sept; fall is oct/nov/dec.

thats what it feels like at least...

You mean scientists from many different countries meeting in Copenhagen or the one set of findings from Japan.

I'm still confused on what to believe. I watched An Inconvenient Truth, but I also am well aware that the dataset is paltry against millions of years of thermal cycles.

Can we agree that at least the symptoms of global warming are present (melting ice, rising water levels, etc)? The cause is still debatable whether it's man-made or not. I read something somewhere that made this analogy on global warming.

It's like a fat person chowing down on a Big Mac. Yea, it's not exactly healthy for them, but they're already fat so the relative harm isn't that great. People are like the Big Mac - not that much of an impact overall, but we'd still be better off as carrots (minimizing our environmental impact).
