Scotty2Hotty
Have to be something by Delton or CMMG. Might want to check Armslist for something used.

Rgreen
what's the better brand or is there something else I should look at
RyM3rC
For range duty and plinking you'll be just fine. DPMS, CMMG, Del-ton etc can be had pretty cheap. What are your expectations of an AR?
Rgreen
Reliable and accurate

copperhead
http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1DTIM4MOEODG&name=Delton+Inc.+MOE+Edition+DTI-15+.223%2f5.56+Rifle+OD+Green&groupid=11 worth the drive to not have to deal with shipping. Comes stock with some Magpul goodies, can't go wrong there the CMMG bargain bin doesn't have anything listed right now, oh well
oldman09FZ6
I would rate the Rock River higher than DPMS. The company that owns DPMS also owns Remington,Marlin,H&R,Bushmaster,& Dakota. Gun shows,in 09 I picked up a DPMS 16" SS bull barrel for 700+tax and in 2010 I picked up a DPMS 'sportical' 16" for 700+tax.
TheBussman1647545507
I'm also looking for a cheap AR, I've shot a few other cheap ones and have been pleased. Looking to do some range time and coyote hunting, need to mount a scope.
V8 Beast
I decided to just get this. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/763/products_id/58560 After all the reading about building one I would save $250 and the parts wouldnt be as good. Scotty2Hotty
I'd be willing to sell a flat top with a free float Wilson upper.

Rgreen
Where's a good place to get acog scope
Scotty2Hotty
Go to Larue to get an ACOG. The QD mount alone is worth $150. They aren't super cheap, but competitive with the market. Check out http://www.Larue.com
Scotty2Hotty
sounds expensive, how much? I'd go $875 on it possibly.
AWW$HEEET
What can you get a complete rifle for, less stripped lower? You can get all these parts through the mail correct?
Scotty2Hotty
What can you get a complete rifle for, less stripped lower? You can get all these parts through the mail correct? You mean an upper? Depends on what you want mang. You can go MILSPEC, semi-MILSPEC, 1:7 twist, 1:9 twist, flat top etc... Yes, the uppers ship through the mail no problem. Scotty2Hotty
To me saying you want a cheap AR is like looking for a cheap hooker. Guess you might get what you want, but why not spend a little more?
AWW$HEEET
I know, I'm just looking to build the balls to the wall cheapest ar I could find on the internets. Basically buy a $99 lower at vances, then buy a complete kit minus the lower on the internet, slap my budget rifle together and see what happens. Goal: plinker that won't blow up in my hands. RyM3rC
You used to be able to build a halfway decent AR for $450. Anymore you're looking at closer to $600ish.
