Draco-REX Posted January 30, 2011 Report Share Posted January 30, 2011 Just saw the review for the BMW 1M (not M1). Sounds like BMW is trying to recapture some of the E30 magic. It's the weight of an E36, but with a bit more power (twin turbo so potentially a LOT more power) and a 2" shorter wheelbase. It also apparently has the wheels, tires, and brakes of the current generation M3 so it must stop on a dime. The numbers look good. It could shape up to be a nasty little car. They just have different engines and bodies. and they aren't even like the real cars...tube frames, different motors, etc. my husband did the conti tire test back in oct and he worked on the sahlen team and learned a bunch about those cars as much as i like watching these races, i prefer to watch cars that are closer to what i can drive in real life (world challenge series, etc) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Draco-REX Posted January 30, 2011 Report Share Posted January 30, 2011 as much as i like watching these races, i prefer to watch cars that are closer to what i can drive in real life (world challenge series, etc) I'm much the same, but at least these are shaped like the street cars, unline another series that shall remain nameless. I really enjoy the tech involved too. But those Daytona Prototypes are just UGLY. I wish they would come up with a design that has a lower roofline.
