that dude
i bought a ek x ring gold chain with a sprocket specialist black alum sprocket.the sprocket is cool cause its machined after being anodized so it has a "depth" look to it if that makes sense.. ReconRat
Huh?I originally asked why switch to 520, other than the weight savings. I never thought about there being more choices in gearing (or sprocket types, or chain) with the 520. You pointed it out. You get the cookie. that dude
jagr- dont forget the speed healer..i ordered a healtech, and it looks very nice, durable, easy to program..check it out..better than the yellowbox from doing my homework..also has a top speed recall button i mounted by the steering stem..pretty neat
NinjaNick
Dude, you'll still have the factory error if you just set the settings to your gearing change. If you can use a GPS and hold it steady at 40mph and get what the GPS says and use their PRECISE calculator on the speedohealer website. that dude
are you serious..sahh ok you right, i guess it only takes in account the sprockets change, not the factory _ or +
jagr
Per riderforums. On the Z, if I do a -1+2, I will only have 2 percent error in speed. I figured it wasn't worth getting a SH. Does that seem wrong?
NinjaNick
Yeah, it would be a little off like it is now. No biggie I'm sure. I just wanted 100% accuracy. They tell you how on their website under the PRECISE option.I used a buddys GPS and suctioned it to my tank. After done I used the GPS again and it was RIGHT ON!I had to input -12.9% into my healer. chrisknight
Does the healer "fix" the calculated millage also?
NinjaNick
Does the healer "fix" the calculated millage also?If the speedo is correct, the mileage is accurate too. They work with eachother. So if it's way off the mileage will be way off and vice versa.

1dtfgsxr
So how do I tell if my bike has a speedo healer on it? I bought it with the 520 already done.
natedogg624
your speedo/mileage wont be off if it has the 520 on it. unless you instead meant to say it has a different sprocket count than OEM."520" does not equal different sprockets. gixxie750
-1 +2 AND A 520 conversion is almost a must do on any bike! It just makes it easier to ride and lets you get into the meat of the power erlier. As for the do it yourselfers i recomend you leave the old chain and sprockets on untill you losen the front sprocket!
