Car stalls with heater on

Possibly a bad blower motor drawing too many amps causing a voltage drop to the pcm? (or a bad alternator or both... pure speculation.) Try different fan speeds and/or heat/ac settings...do you still get the same symptoms?

you can look into the alternator, but it probably needs a relay control module,, thats whats responsible for raising engine rpm under higher loads like having the ac or heat on its also possible that if you have it set on defrost wich kicks on the ac compressor to dry the air that the compressor might be going out as well

i do not have the defrost on, but thats exactly what it sounds like its doing.

  • 1 month later...

cleaned the idle air control valve and throttle body and that seemed to clear up the stalling part, however, the ac compressor is acting up. what does this mean?:

Took a few second video with the ac on max with a gauge hooked up.

its like it kicks on for a second, then turns right back off.

there is to much pressure in the system. or the safety switch is bad take it to a shop like jiffy lube they can evacuate it and fill it to the proper amount. the problem with those do it your self kits is that the gauges do not always work and they are not accurate by any means. the reason is that once there is some freon in the system it will read the same pressure no matter the amount of freon

ie

the psi has nothing to do with the amount of freon. when over filled, it over pressurizes. one of two things can happen you can ruin the compressor or blow a hole some where obviously that is quite the hazard so the safety pressure switch kills power to the clutch

to sum this up go to jiffy lube on polaris ask for adam sutherland and tell him chris payne sent you.
