WTB: Diesel Pickup

Looking for a diesel truck to replace my current tow vehicle, must have:

1) Two wheel drive (2WD)

2) Extended cab

3) A/C & Cruise (working or not)

4) Not too much rust

4) Under 150K miles (I know they'll run forever-body & chassis, not so much)

6) Under $3000

Ideally a 1990 - 1995 pickup (non-turbo is OK) would fit the bill. Would prefer not to go to a crew cab or dually, but migh consider it for the right deal. I might also consider a 2WD Suburban, but a pickup is the first choice. Looked at too much jink on CL - figured I'll try here...

92 dodge ram 350 dually

$2500. 188k. Odometer stopped reading in august, but I've only driven it to work an back everyday. 50hp inj. Haven't touched the fuel screw. New ECM. Gets about 20-21 mpg. Airbag suspension. Will haul anything! 5th wheel ball in bed too. Pyro and boost gauge. It's in Arkansas with me right now but should be back to ohio soon.

Not being mean but for $3k and a diesel all its going to be is junk. You either need to spend more or go with a gas.

Why are you wanting diesel

We get it already. Every truck that isn't a Cummins, Powerstroke, or doesn't cost $35,000 is junk. You don't need to remind us in every thread about diesels.

OP, have you considered an old military pickup? I know they're 4wd and reg. cab, but they are a 1 ton (actually 5/4 ton), usually minimally rusty, have less than 100k and typically can be had for less than $3,000.

My K10 with a 6.2 gets 20 mpg and hasn't missed a beat in the 6 years I've had it.

1st I'm not in every thread telling people if they don't spend 35k their truck is junk. Actually I rarely sell diesels that are that much. Hell you can get a very very nice truck for 7-10k. Ask Dover I had a 7.3 I was trying to sell him.

8 mpg towing w/the old F150 vs. mid teens w/a diesel. Seen a few decent ones in the price range - but most were single cabs or 4x4. Really don't want a modded truck either.

Thanks - will keep in mind. Really would rather not go dually or modded if I can help it.
