WTB: 3 or 4 person tent

verse

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for something in good condition, not used excessively, something from a good quality company, and looking to spend $70-150. Must have a full rain fly and would perfer it to have a vestibule as well.

I thought I'd try here to see if anyone has anything sitting in their garages unused before I buy online.

I'd also be interested in other camping gear, let me know what you have.

their like $40brand new at walmart y not just buy one?

Not all tents are created equal. Walmart doesn't sell quality tents. I was just hoping someone has a nice tent that they don't use anymore or bought on a whim. I'm talking like $150-300 MSRP 3/4 person tent.

Coleman tents (actually sold at Walmart) are truly decent tents, especially in terms of being water-tight. You can go with some higher end brands, but honestly if you're camping out of a car and not hiking your tent into somewhere remote it's not worth the added cost. I used the same Coleman dome tent for the past 8 years or so, and it's still to this day in great shape, and has never leaked.

The only drawback of most any dome tent is their resistance to wind, as they're prone to "fold up" in really strong gusts. I actually like this one pretty well, and it's a more upright structure which should be a bit more sturdy, with added head/shoulder room:

Edit: I guess they changed the Montana Models, this looks more like the one I was thinking of:

I've broken far too many fiberglass poles in my life. I'll stick to what I was asking for.

You can close this. I ended up just buying a new Kelty Eden 4 person 3.5 season tent.
