-Alex-
Contact Info: Alex McWilliams Wellston, OH Reply here or PM me Quick Info: 1997 Honda Civic DX hatchback - 3500 OBO Item Description: Just throwing this out there for now fishing for trade offers really, not sure I want to get rid of it yet. What I have here is a completely rust free 1997 Civic hatchback. It's a factory Dark Amethyst Pearl car, and doesn't appear to have ever had any paintwork. Stock D16Y7 and a factory 5 speed, no mods other than the catback because the stock midpipe was cobbled. The body is straight minus a few tiny parking lot dings, the only real damage on the car is on the hood near the driver's side headlight. It has 143k original miles (cluster says around 97k, the orginal cluster's speedo needle started at 40 instead of 0 so I replaced it, but I still have it). Within the last 2 months or so and less than 1000 miles it's had the following added or replaced: -OEM style black housing headlights -Type R style front lip -Apex'i catback -eBay coilover sleeves -new spark plugs -new alternator -new Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump -new fuel filter (ran a bottle of injector cleaner through at this time also) -new air filter I still have the stock springs and exhaust that will go with it. The car runs and drives great, easily gets 40 mpg. Occasionally it'll have a random stumble if it's under a load at low RPM's, I replaced most of the above attempting to solve that, but it hasn't quit yet. I've been driving it daily for months that way and have adapted to it since it doesn't happen often, I think I'll replace the plug wires and/or crank position sensor next. It has a CD player and aftermarket speakers in the doors and deck, nothing special but they all work. Heat works awesome, air needs recharged which will happen soon. When I turn the a/c on the air gets cooler, but not much, it hasn't gotten hot enough to make me want to recharge it yet honestly. Only other issue besides the random stumble is the driver's window rolls down fine but pops off track when rolled back up. It's another thing I haven't really looked into, I just took the door panel off and held it in the track to roll it up completely then put the panel back and left it alone. Could be something real simple. Basically this is just my work/runaround unit. I have about an 8 mile drive to work, so I really don't need a gas sipper, and being a car guy and homeowner without a truck to haul my junk around in really sucks. As mentioned above, I'm more interested in trades then selling outright. What I'm looking for in trade: -Any newer truck. Prefer a full-size single cab short bed auto, but will consider anything. -'87-'98 Mustang GT. Prefer close to stock, auto or manual doesn't matter. -Will also consider clean SUV's. Not looking for any other fwd car. I'll just keep this jewel if I can't get a decent trade for one of the above. Won't be able to put much cash with the car, but it's a slight possibility. I've got some random car parts and whatnot in the garage that are worth decent money I could let go with it though. Here are a few pics I have on my phone. Next chance I get I'll clean it up for current exterior and interior pics. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/mcwilliams1/d4d14b93.jpg http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/mcwilliams1/944cb225.jpg http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/mcwilliams1/fa74dfa5.jpg http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/mcwilliams1/634ade92.jpg Should be noted the car was pretty dirty in these pics. It's not perfect, but it does clean up very nicely.

-Alex-
Not looking to trade for another fwd car. I just need a truck to haul all the car parts and house junk I deal with. Even though the Civic could haul more junk, I wouldn't mind getting another Mustang just for a daily. Lol I just have this listed on here and 2 other local forums right now. If it's not traded or sold in about a month I'll probably put the stock springs back in, paint the steelies black, and put some OEM hubcaps on so it's basically all stock then list it on Craigslist. The catback that's on it is actually really quiet. It's the WP2 or whatever it's called, not the N1.
Rustlestiltskin
Trade for a truck or partial trade for a 4wheeler and cash? Got both listed as well in the corral.
h22 yo
dunno if it helps but the WS2 he has listed is in fact extremely quiet and sounds surprisingly well for hondas.. had on my h22 accord. friendly bump for you.
-Alex-
The Apache, I'm wanting a 2wd truck. I've never needed to tow anything, just haul around smaller things, and when it comes to trucks I'm more of a low and slow kinda guy. I'm sure I could raise plenty of hell on that Raptor, but I don't have a truck to haul it in! Lol h22 yo, thanks for the input. I was surprised at how quiet it was when I put it on. It's definitely quieter than the stock exhaust was, but it had a huge leak in it right under the front floorboard so that certainly didn't help matters. I cut the front flange off of the Apex'i and welded on the flange from the stock pipe with a reducer so it'd bolt up directly, but I still have the piece that was cut off of the Apex'i. With the exhaust and new Walbro, this baby is ready for a turbo kit.
BoostedAce
That stumble at low rpms means it just needs plug wires cap and rotor, can easly do all that for 100 bucks + help gas mileage, clean car glws.
-Alex-
Thanks, that's the next step. If I didn't have so many instances lately that I needed a truck, there's no way I consider getting rid of this car. It's hard enough to find a rust free, unmolested hatch these days, let alone a DAP car. Originally I planned on hanging onto it until mid-summer because I predict it'll be a gold mine then, but the fact is I need a truck now. It's at a great point right now for the next owner. Either put the stock springs back on and some hubcaps and enjoy a clean stock gas sipper Civic, or put some legit wheels on it and throw a budget turbo kit on and have a really fun daily that still knocks out great gas milage but looks good and has a little bit of balls. Tshensley
+1 for good car, mine is 99' and does great. I average about 45mpg at 60mph. Although my civic has the exact same problem with the driver side door window.

-Alex-
Well, you see...it's not so much her voice that does it for me. In fact, I prefer that most women just keep their mouth shut to be honest. Thanks for the offer though!

-Alex-
I don't think either would be applicable to a Corvette, Wrangler, or 330xi, so I'll have to respectfully decline that offer.
