Senior Linux System Administrator

 

Columbus, OH-based, two-year “Fast Fifty” award winner, Ecommerce, LLC, is seeking an aggressive and forward-thinking Senior Linux System Administrator to advance and maintain our webhosting, cutting-edge cloud hosting technologies and other website related products.

 

In this role, you will join a 20+ member Systems Administration and Network Administration group responsible for the maintenance and operation of thousands of servers (physical and virtual), servicing tens of thousands of databases, hundreds of thousands of websites, and millions of e-mail boxes hosted from the company’s private Tier 3 data center in Columbus, OH.

 

The ideal candidate must be an exceptional thinker with very strong Linux (Centos 5.x, etc) and administration skills (Windows administration is a plus). Understanding the importance of server uptime, performance and customer satisfaction is your key to success. You must be able to take ownership of a project from beginning to end with a focus on meeting deadlines and providing superior results. You should excel working in a multi-national team environment that strongly believes in taking pre-emptive actions to ensure stability of the services we provide to our customers.

 

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of the mechanics of the Internet, server design theory and applications, and server and infrastructure systems (blades, SANs, iSCSI, advanced bash scripting, PHP/Python, firewalls and security, LAMP environments, Linux-variants and Windows Server, Xenserver/VMware, Cloud Computing, LDAP/Active Directory, etc.).

• Knowledge of hosting control panels such as Hsphere, cPanel, Plesk, etc.

• 5+ years of System Administration experience (ideally in hosting or service provider environment)

• 3+ Years of Senior System Administration experience

• Experience with International teams and colleagues is a plus (American, Romanian, Ukrainian).

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to craft business materials of all types (policies, procedures, audits, etc.).

• Strong project management skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
