3.1cutlass
Is there a way to manually update my droid incredible to 4.08.605.2? It has been trying for weeks but never updates. It will do the countdown from 10 to reboot but then never reboots.
CRed05
1. Find latest update.zip 2. Place .zip on sd card 3. boot into recovery 4. flash update
dragknee66
^ pretty much what he said.. if none of that made sense I would just hard reset the whole phone to factory defaults and try for the update that way. Backup your stuff of course
3.1cutlass
It kinda made sense. More details would be great. I tried a variation of this before with no luck.
CRed05
This appears to be the file you need. RUU http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-incredible/450788-finally-gingerbread-ruu-4-08-605-2-a.html rename it to update.zip and put it on your sd card. Flashing the OTA: Power off your phone.Start your phone by holding down the Vol Down and Power buttons at the same time. This will take you to HBOOT.Wait a few moments, HBOOT will automatically search for the update.zip file.Once it finds the file and starts to flash the update, you will see a black screen with green circular arrows and a progress bar. Don't do anything until it is done. It will reboot by itself when it is done. It will look like it's rebooting 3 times, this is normal.Go get a drink and wait for full boot. The first boot will take a while. It will look like it's hung on the Droid eye for several minutes. Do not panic.Enjoy the Gingerbread goodness
dragknee66
^ yup.. you can download any file explorer app on the market to help you move files around on the sd card, or plug it in to your computer and place the update at the base of the sd card.
