Political questions...

Because they have their fists up the assses of the people in DC making sure they keep their billions.

Now how about this idea to twist your noodle:

Billionaires chip in to pay off debt, they are given a break for X number of years and don't have to pay taxes.

Now, under the GOP line of "don't punish the rich" this will solve 2 problems:

1. Debt will be paid off.

2. The rich who "create jobs" will now have the ability to "create" more jobs since they have no taxes to pay and can invest more in business.

Cliffs: ALL things political are rigged or messed with by outsiders. This has been the case since the very idea of a political and voting system was thought up by the dirty greeks.

Too logical it would never work.

If you are in this thread and made sense you have no place in politics..

If you made a post that didn't add value but made people smile you may be a president some day.

If you made a post that didn't make people laugh or contribute you are American.

imho, they need to get some regular joes into comgress and such political positions that actually know how to balance a check book... I never understood why people in congress need a 30,000 dollar drink budget per year, why they have to fly first class wherever they go, why the government provides them with luxury cars when they clearly could provide theyre own. I understand that in an important position like that that there will be perks, however why so excessive when the government can't pay our debt to other countries ie: china. guess its the american way and probably the reason the stock market crashed, spend that money that you don't have.

Ron and Rand Paul share an apartment or condo or something in DC. Not sure about Rand, but Ron Paul always gives back part of his salary every year.

Sounds like your regular joes right there.

I didn't know that, I can appreciate it though, just wish the rest of our politicans could follow that example

Why dont all these rich people in and around politics just cut a check and get rid of the debt? Are they not allowed to? 30 billionaires could put a nice dent in the debt if it was really important to them.

LOL

What would we have to do just to pay the 3.7 Trillion for last year that the government spent:

Dent, 30 billionaires, they can't put a dent in what was spent in just 2011. Oh and hey they are spending another 3.7 Trillion now.....

You do know the definition of dent.. right? :dumb:

I saved you some time..

an appreciable effect, esp of lessening

The point of that was to say people seem to act like the debt is a great reason to vote or not to vote for a person ... but nobody does anything but complain. Somehow the logic is to hand people millions for so they can tell other people how they will better manage money. last I checked you eat an elephant one bite at a time.

If you took 100% of the money of homes that made 250,000 or more (1.93% of the US population) you would only have $1,412,000,000,000 that's less than 50% of what was spent last year! What are 30 billionaires going to do donating a percentage, it doesn't cover the interest, you have to pay interest plus principle for a dent in 14 trillion. 1% is 140 billion. If each of the thirty billionaires gave 4.6 Billion every year to the debt, it would take 100 years to pay it off considering we had a balanced budget that included the intrest on the current debt the rest of America was responsible for paying.

Hang on a minute, I'm sending my mortgage company an extra quarter to put a dent in my house note.

I think a little slower than others on here, sorry, plus I type slow on an iPhone, while trying to do this ridiculous math in my head. I've looked at it 5 times and I think it's right. There are way too many fuckin zeros!

PS if you didn't watch the link I posted, please do, it makes it easier to understand I think. I know it's slow at first, skip to where he starts using the calandar. that's paying for just 2011.

Why am I awake when I will be at my desk at work by 6:30am? I hate you Brian.

I win! You will be thinking about me all day while doing the sleepy head jerk.

the 30 was a number I just tossed out. Its going to take longer than we are alive to pay this thing off. The point is we need to start moving it instead of adding to it. Giving a penny is 101% better than taking a dollar.
