Alex L.
I'll advocate a JZ swap, but I may be a bit partial.
NismoTuned
Don't get me wrong.. I'd love it but it just seems unrealistic for my price range
mjrsplat
a 1j would require everything the 2j would. a 2jzge can be had for a lot cheaper than a 1jzgte, has more displacement, and can handle being turboed with no issues. (notice I mentioned Na-t) Alex can clarify on this if he wishes, a jz block is a jz block, it's going to take abuse.
NismoTuned
hmm.. i just wonder how rough the install and custom work would be. I may look into it to see how much a 1jzge na-t would cost. id love to have either a jz or rb they're both bomb.. guess ill have to look into cost of the engine, custom parts, and then the install itself. A 2JZ-GE will definitely be your best bang for the buck.
DavidBaustert
IDK, considering he'd have to figure out some sort of EMS, as well as injectors, turbo shit-oil lines and manifolds and whatnot, as well as a transmission and clutch setup. I think a 1j is probably as cheap as an rb swap, and is a better motor in my opinion.
Alex L.
There's plenty of parts options for the GE motors and most aren't that expensive, not to mention the motors are simple to work on. Hell, a basic T4 setup with RX7 550cc injectors and a MAP ECU is an easy 400hp.
NismoTuned
i dont know too much about the toyotas but from what I understand an RB20 can be had for cheap while still being fairly simple and inexpensive relatively speaking. I need reliability as its still my dd
mjrsplat
Jz>rb any day in terms of price, parts availability, reliability, I could go on and on.

Crossle
That's a serious swap to undertake for a car that is your daily driver. Take it from someone with less experience than others on this board due to my age, but do yourself a favor and try to get a reliable car to leave alone. That way when you get angry/discouraged at this project you don't go into "oh shit" mode because you have to have the car running for work. That's how corners are cut, that is what happened on my MR2 and I am still paying for it and it was just suspension work. At least now, when I have an issue with the 2 I can walk away from it on jack stands and make sure it gets done right, vs. "making it work" Just food for thought, plenty of time to mod cars. I am finally at the point that I feel ok dumping some money into modding my cars, I've waited a long time for it, but I am much happier about doing it. Don't get me wrong I am down for seeing a car evolve, I certainly hope your swap is successful. This is one I will be watching.

Crossle
Looks pretty good. I can't stand how the black/white sections are broken up on that car. Took me a few minutes looking at it, but the roof needs to be painted black or something lol. I like the wheel selection as well.
