Those guys are fucked, I might see how many of them are on need2speed.com and see what the real story is.
dover
This will be the beginning to the end of street racing in Florida. This is the kind of bad publicity the country sees and the mayor and governor of Florida get together and start fucking people like they are doing here in Ohio. RIP florida street racing! 10phone2
Those guys are fucked, I might see how many of them are on need2speed.com and see what the real story is. None of them are on need2speed.com from what I could find. To make it worse, there was another ricer street accident that lead to a death in Tampa: http://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/fhp-18-year-old-brooksville-teen-killed-while-racing/1214843 Needless to say, any modified car in Tampa area will be a target for harassment. 10phone2
I wonder if due to the video showing plate numbers, there maybe dozens of charges for leaving the scene of an accident. I am pretty sure some states have gone as far to make it a crime for standing on the side and watching a street race, but I am not 100% which ones. Up in detroit the cops were filing people race, their faces, and plate numbers. From what I read they are going or already did go to their house, arrest them, and take the cars. ForeverMaker
Leaving the scene of an accident you were IN vs. leaving an accident you SAW are very different I imagine?
10phone2
Jesus christ. When states are losing money and are laying off employees, the easiest thing to do is start making any excuse in the book to impound property and fine. In ten years or less, I expect states to want to put chips in licenses/plates so they can monitor speed that way.

I would hope so, but with manipulation of current laws, who knows.

If they do that, mine will meet with sudden, recurring, and inexplicable power surges. And I don't street race.

jeffro
Up in detroit the cops were filing people race, their faces, and plate numbers. From what I read they are going or already did go to their house, arrest them, and take the cars. I read a recent article where residents in Detroit were calling the police for burglaries (which are on the rise, go figure) and the police would show up the next day asking why they called. That city has caught the plague.

Draco-REX
It's amazing (and in some ways unfortunate) that no one was killed in that perfect storm of stupidity.
Forrest Gump 9
This is nothing new! Street racing at Gandy bridge had been going on since the 60's. There will be street racing on Gandy bridge long after this incident. Fifteen years ago while I still live in Tampa, there was a huge street racing bust that involve 200+ cars. Guess what, same shit happen in the same spot the very next week. It's a culture down there.
