stangsn95gt
Ordered some durabake from midway and it got here yesterday. The gun I planned on refinishing is a WWI spanish ruby that my great grandfather used. The blueing on the gun looked terrible and surface rust was starting to develop. The gun came out nicely for the amount of effort I didn't put in. I also ended up Polishing up all the stainless hardware too. Anyways on to the before and after pics. stangsn95gt
Holy crap. I need to do that to my old Star. EDIT: maybe not. not keen on painting it... but man that looks killer This stuff reminds me more of a powder coat than a paint. I put the first coat on let it sit for 10mins baked it at 350 for 30 mins let it cool down then did another coat the same way. I found its very tuff because I was liberal with taping off some things and its a bitch to sand it off.

Mark1647545493
The gun looks great now. Is this something you can use your kitchen oven for? Any adverse smells from the baking? I have a 2 pistols and 3 long guns that need coated.

I have a 2 pistols and 3 long guns that need coated. I sprayed it in the basement and there were some fumes but I baked it in the kitchen oven and there was no smell I noticed. I wish I could fit a shotgun barrel in the oven.

stangsn95gt
Suppose to bake on 100* tho fyi not tree fitty Step #6 from the can and I did 30 mins just be be safe http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k204/stangsn95gt/DSC_0003.jpg Also from the website it says 350 for 15min or 180 for 3hrs http://www.houtsenterprises.net/dur_bake.html So Im not sure where you got the 100 degrees from but this is from the manufacturer.
