Putting offset explorer 8.8 in non 4x4 application

Hey all,

As I am sure some of you know the explorer 8.8 rear end has an offset center section. I am planning on using it in a normal rwd application with a central driveshaft. Do you think the fact that the driveshaft will be at a slight angle will be a problem? I don't really want to shorten it and get custom axles yet to center it. Thanks!

One thing i have seen guys do is shorten the drivers side tube to match the passenger side tube and then you just have to get another passenger side axle instead of a custom one. This will also center the axle for you.

This, but it will only work if he needs to narrow it, and to that exact measurement.

As long as it close he can play with offset to get what he needs, and not have a lot of money wrapped up in it.

Good point. My 8.8 has to be narrowed to work with wheels that I already have to keep enough bedside clearance on my truck.
