DaddyBuiltRacing
I am wanting to pick up a go pro to get some good racing footage with this year and don't know a whole lot about them. So teach me what you know please. Such as which one is a decent one, is there 1 better then the other, what accessories are a must to have? CRed05
Yeah you want the hero 2 motorsport. Comes with a bunch mounts and is 1080p. http://www.jegs.com/i/GoPro+HD+Cameras/993/CHDMH-002/10002/-
justinwebb
the hero 2 is all the same camera just different mounts, depending on what you are using there are a ton of mounts and such, the LCD backpack is great for framing up shots or seeing what is going on and the battery pack is great for extra battery life. I have used these for quite some time and for how much the cost they amazing tools. They are soon releasing a pro tune firmware that will allow for higher data rates and clearer images, so that will be sweet as well

Mojoe
Go see Casey at independant motorsports. He hooked my buddy up with this deal for I think 250-275ish. His deal is way cheaper than anywhere online. Just tell him Mojoe sent you.
RedLudeSH
The hero 2 is differnt in 2 important ways. One the LCD that tells you what mode you are in is actually user friendly, uses words instead of numbers you have to look up/memorize. Two it has a better lens allowing for much better low light filming, the 1 is useless from dusk on. I've the hd 1 for over a year now, its been on my car through numerous roadtrips, autoxs and road course days and is amazing. The LCD backpac is an absolute must. Nothing worse than having it on, having something amazing happen only to discover you were filming your hood the whole time.
DaddyBuiltRacing
I ended up getting the hero one as well as the roll bar mount. For free I couldn't bitch about it. I am pretty anxious to start filming. What are you guys using to edit movies? I have windows movie maker and hate it

turbospec29
How do these do for still images? I'm in the market for a camera I can take to the lake on my jet ski, so I want a waterproof setup but I feel I'll take more pictures than video. Any other, maybe cheaper cam setups out there for that?
