Sparky
On the drive back from Chicago a week ago I could feel the trans to begin to slip under acceleration. I've parked the car for now and am debating on what to do. Replace with a used unit or have it rebuilt. I got one quote so far to rebuild and it was a bit more than I'd like to spend. I'm willing to do the work to uninstall/re-install the trans but have never rebuilt a trans myself. I also want to make sure it actually needs a rebuild. The car does drive if I baby it. For a rebuild what should I be looking at price wise?
Rocky31186
I guess it all depends on how long you want to keep it.. If your selling it soon, pop a used trans in there an call it a day.. If your keeping it for another 100k miles.. Rebuild it.. I personally would just swap another transmission in it..
GTPSS
They aren't to hard to rebuild. I will no longer do the R+R, but if you want help rebuilding let me know. I've done about 50 of them.
